Drought Risk Communication

We have produced five sets of resources on drought risk communication during the DRY project:

• An initial ‘Communications brief’ – Communicating Drought in a Changing Climate -led by Climate Outreach at the start of our project that draws on extant secondary sources.

• A ‘Research Summary’ – “Communicating the hidden”: drought risk, water shortage and communities – based on our primary research on drought risk communication issues.

• A further ‘Communications brief’ – Reaching publics: tailoring and targeting drought risk communication – that is a response to DRY’s research summary, and draws more widely on exemplars of international best practice.

• A ‘Communications brief’ focused on working with DRY’s Drought Myths in Communication with links to three ‘Myth busting’ films produced as part of the About Drought project

• DRY’s cartoon bank, with a searchable database of cartoons, exploring drought myths, top-tips in drought and water communication, and showcasing DRY’s research processes.
